In Part 2 we will have a look on the heart of the engine : the Crankshaft
This is a forged crankshaft from the USA
The first thing is always quality inspection!
This crankshaft was ok from the measurements and it didn`t runout when I check it between 2 centers on the lathe.
For this engine I decided to make an additional heat treatment:
Teniferieren in german or ferritic nitrocarburizing in english
Check the links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferritic_nitrocarburizing
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teniferierung
After this was balancing: Uaah 30 gramms out of balancing!! at the first check.
But now it's perfect, alone and together with the flywheel and the Kennedy pressure plate.
Flywheel????
For sure JPS 3,3kg Cromo Flywheel
Have a great Weekend!

Bitburg & Molsheim
Some pictures from Dragracing in Bitburg and Cox Show Molsheim
The weather conditions were very changeable in Bitburg.
With some rain breaks, Wallä Zwahlen could complete 12 runs with his street bug.
His silver Bug did the 1/4 mile in 13,9 seconds! and this with "only" 2l engine with 44 IDF and with 175er rear tires
(no Slicks)
Wow!!
His engine is equipped with JPS HD Aluminium Pushrods and a 3,3kg JPS Flywheels,
revs up to 7200rpm every run easy!
Wallä has built a very nice engine

Technical Facts Formel Super Vee
Today's blog is for People the love the fine art of Formula Vee and Formula Super Vee.
For all guys the prefer "hard" stuff like K Motion K800 Dual Chevy springs, steel pushrods and monstervalves they can stop reading here.......
I've found two tables to the engine technology of Formula Vee and Super Vee, which show the fine technique to build a "air"-cool engine .
Have a look on valvespring pressure, valve size and carburetor size and the performance per liter they achieve.
My 1915er streetengine is built "almost" identical
I love the response of this engine ......
Try it yourself once , a wide grin is for sure
nice week
